Jim Young is the inventor of Purely Organic. Jim has a lifetime of experience in agriculture and a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture. He has owned a farm supply and garden shop for over 31 years and has worked for the North Carolina Agricultural Extension Service. Perhaps more importantly, Jim grew up on a farm when farmers were creating and using their own organic fertilizers before commercial fertilizers were readily available and affordable; and he has enjoyed growing a vegetable garden every year of his life, ranging in size from backyard gardens to several acres. He has recently been growing his own square foot gardens as part of his research to understand how their production and maintenance differ from traditional row gardening.
